Der nächste Live-Kurs für Helmstedt ist fertig vorbereitet!

Letzte Nacht habe ich (um halb 3) den Druckauftrag hochgeladen und abgeschickt!

Hat einen Riesenspaß gemacht, diesen Kurs vorzubereiten!


The next live class for Helmstedt is prepared!

Last night (at 2.30 a.m.) I uploaded the printing job and ordered it!

It was so much fun to prepare this class!

Was alles darin vorkommt?

• ein bisschen allgemeine Info über Garnarten und deren Vor- und Nachteile
• ein bisschen Info über Spinnung und Zwirnungen
• ein bisschen Info über Garnkennzeichnungen
• ein bisschen Info über Garnstärken
• ein bisschen Info über die Eignung von Garnen für bestimmte Muster
• ein bisschen Info über verschiedene Färbetechniken
• das "Herzstück": wie 9 verschiedene Arten von Garnfärbungen sich glatt und kraus rechts verstrickt zeigen - und sie sie sich deshalb zum Swing-Stricken mehr oder weniger eignen
• ein bisschen Farbkunde
• wie man leicht erkennen kann, ob 2 Garne genug Kontrast aufweisen
• Pooling, Wildern, Ringel und Blockstreifen
• wie man bei Handgefärbten eine Swing-Strophe farblich abschätzen kann
• Swing mit handgesponnenen Garnen

Bevor ihr nachfragt: Diesen Workshop wird es NICHT als PDF-Kurs geben, dazu zeige ich da einfach zu viel! Und ich bin so gespannt, welche Garne die Teilnehmerinnen mitbringen werden, die wir uns dann gemeinsam gründlich angucken!

The themes of this live workshop are:

• a little info about different yarn types and their pros and cons
• a little info about spining and twisting
• a little info about yarn declarations
• a little info about yarn sizes
• a little info about yarn types and their suitability for different types of patterning
• a little info about yarn dying
• the "centerpiece": how 9 different types of dying show their beauty in stockinette and garter stitch - and how much (or little) these dying types qualify themselves for Swing-Knitting
• a little color theory
• how you can easily see whether two yarns have enough contrast
• pooling, wildering, stripes and block stripes
• how you can estimate the coloring of a Swing stanza using hand dyed yarn
• Swing and hand spun yarns

I am so excited teaching an exciting and fun workshop!

Before you ask: This workshop won't be relased as a PDF workshop - I'll show too many examples! And I am so excited what yarns the students will bring along, that we will examine together!

Die Druckaufträge für 3 meiner Helmstedt-Kurse sind fertig und schon in Auftrag gegeben - in jedem der Kurse ist noch ein bisschen Platz :)!

I finished writing the room documents for 3 of my Helmstedt classes, and I have already ordered the print jobs. There are still a few free places in all classes :)!

Zwischendurch stricke ich an der dreieckigen Spirale weiter, Garnnachschub ist angekommen!
Das Garn ist Scheepjes Spirit in der Farbe "Dragonfly" (Libelle), und ratet mal, welches Hörbuch ich dabei höre????
Band 2 der Outlander Saga von Diana Gabaldon, deutscher Titel "Die geliehene Zeit", englischer Titel "Dragonfly in Amber" - na, wenn das nicht passt :)!!!!
War aber purer Zufall, dass Garn und Hörbuch den gleichen Namen haben - aber dafür hat das Tuch jetzt auch schon einen Namen - "Dragonfly in Spirals" (spiralige Libelle)!

Inbetween I'm knitting on the triangular spiral - new supplies have arrived.
The yarn is Scheepjes Spirit, the color is called "Dragonfly" - and can you guess what audio book I'm just listening to?????
It's book 2 of the Outlander Saga by Diana Gabaldon, the title is "Dragonfly in Amber" - isn't that a match :)!!!!!
It was pure chance, yarn and audio book having the same name - but now the shawl already has a name - "Dragonfly in Spirals"!


Bis Helmstedt schaffe ich es ganz sicher nicht mehr, das Tuch auch noch zu schreiben - aber das gestrickte Tuch wird fertig werden!

I'll surely not succeed in writing this shawl for Helmstedt - but the knitted shawl will be finished!

Apropos Schreiben: Ich schreibe zur Zeit wie ne Blöde, um die neuen Kurse fertig zu bekommen - habe die Arbeit dazu natürlich gnadenlos unterschätzt ... Eine Seite pro Stunde schaffe ich etwa ...., die Anleitung zur quadratischen Spirale ist fertig, die Anleitung zum Zickzack-Swing ist fertig ....
Als nächstes kommt der Kurs "Wie sieht das verstrickt aus?", zu dem ich bisher ganz viele Zettel, Notizen und Gedanken im Kopf habe, die ich dann "nur noch" sortieren und zusammentragen muss  .... Und mit ganz viel Glück schaffe ich es auch noch, das Doe Waka Tuch zu schreiben ..., kann ich aber nicht versprechen!

Ich geh dann mal wieder an die Arbeit :)!

Apropos writing: I'm busily writing to put the new classes into words - I heavily underestimated the work and time involved ... It's only about 1 page per hour that I get done .... the (German) pattern for the square spiral is done, the /German) pattern for the Zickzack Swing is done ...
Next will be the class "How does this yarn look knitted up?" - I have lots of paper slips, notices, ideas, still all in my head, I "only" have to sort them and make a class of it .... With a lot of luck, I'll be able to write the Doe Waka shawl in German before  Helmstedt .... but I can't promise!

Okay, back to work :)!

Ostergestrick - Easter knitting

Ostern und schlechtes Wetter = eine Menge Strickzeit :)!

Bei Hygge Nr. 1 habe ich endlich das Mittelpanel fertig gestickt samt den notwendigen Veränderungen. Da ich aus meinen beiden Hygges eine Jacke machen möchte, musste ich das kleine Vögelchen drehen, damit es dann bei der getragenen Jacke nicht auf der Seite liegt :)!

Feste Maschen häkeln und Kreuzstich - mach einen Riesenspaß, und die Farbkombination Danish Mermaid finde ich weiterhin zauberhaft!

Heute wird schon Woche 10 veröffentlicht - warum ich so hinterher hinke, zeige ich euch weiter unten :) ...

Easter holidays plus bad weather = a lot of knitting time :)!

I'm playing catch up on my Hygge shawls. I finished cross-stitching the middle panel of no. 1, with the few changes that I need. I want to make my two Hygges into a cardigan, so I had to turn the little bird around - I don't want it to lie on its side when I wear the cardigan :)!

Crocheting single crochet and cross-stitching - that's so much fun! And I love the color combination of the Danish mermaid kit!

Today week 10 will already be relased - why I am so late and slowly catching up, I'll show you next :) ...

 

Die dreieckige Spirale ist schuld :)!

Die macht so einen Spaß, dass ich sie kaum weglegen kann und will!

Viel fehlt ja auch nicht mehr -------- nur, wie üblich, ist mir mal wieder die Wolle ausgegangen, und jetzt warte ich ungeduldig auf ganz schnelle Nachlieferung :)!

It's so much fun that I can't put it away!

It's not so much that is still missing -------------- but, as nearly always, I ran out of yarn! And now I'm impatiently waiting for the delivery of more yarn to arrive :)!

Vorfreude und Vorarbeit - A thrill of anticipation and work

Helmstedt naht - in einem Monat ist es endlich so weit, dass unser großes jährliches Swing-Strick-Treffen in Helmstedt stattfindet - und die große Swing-Modenschau!

Helmstedt draws near - only one more month, and then our annual Swing-Knitting Festival in Helmstedt is there - and with it the Swing Fashion Show!

Höchste Zeit, alle meine im Laufe des letzten Jahres gestrickten Swing-Modelle in einer Liste an Angelika zusammenzufassen - wenn das mal so einfach wäre :)!
Da ich ja zugegeben beim Einstellen der Modelle ins Ravelry einerseits ziemlich schlampig bin und andererseits auch viele Projekte erst dann einstelle, wenn die dazugehörigen Anleitungen fertig sind, hieß das für mich, fast 2 komplette Tage Sucherei - in den Ravelry Projekten, auf dem Blog seit Mai 2016, und in meinen Fotos seit Mai 2016!

High time to gather all my Swing projects that I knitted within the last year, in a list - if this were so easy :)!

I admit to be quite lazy in keeping my Ravelry projects up to date - sometimes because I just forget, sometimes because I want to show the finished object with the pattern release .... So I just spent 2 days with searching for my finished Swing objects - looking through my Ravelry projects, looking through my blog since May 2016, and looking through my photos since May 2016!

Sonn-Tag - Sun-Day

Das war doch mal ein Sonntag, der diesen Namen echt verdient hat!
Und den ich bis zum Abend im Garten verbracht habe!

This was a Sunday that really earned its name!
And I spent all day outside in the garden!

Ja, das Tuch zur unendlichen Spirale ist fertig und auch schon trocken!

Das Thema "unendliche Spirale" werde ich in Helmstedt als Live-Kurs anbieten - und irgendwann mache ich daraus auch einen Kursbaustein für fortgeschrittene Swing-Stricker.

Ungewöhnliche Tuchformen verlangen nach ungewöhnlichen Spann-Ideen - in der Oberkante sind Spannstangen, und zum Ausspannen des seitlichen Zipfels musste eine Hundeleine herhalten :).

The shawl with the eternal spirals is finished, and it has already dried!

The "eternal spiral" I will teach as a live class in Helmstedt - und some time it will become a Swing-Knitting wotkshop for advanced Swing-Knitters.

Special shapes call for special blocking tools - the upper edge is blocked using blocking wires, and to block the side tip I used one of my dog leashes :).

Und da Spiralen bekanntlich süchtig machen, habe ich gleich die nächste angeschlagen - diesmal als Dreieck und in etwas anderer Technik.

Spirals are highly addivtive - so I directly started the next one. This one will become triangular, with a variation of the technique.

Bei dem Superwetter machte sogar Fäden vernähen Spaß!

Even sewing in yarn ends was fun in this wonderful weather!

Hygge durfte draußen auch nicht fehlen - ein Stück weitergestickt am Mittelpanel.

Hygge was outside as well, and I made some progress on stitching the middle panel.

Nur noch ein paar Meter I-Cord, dann ist das Tuch zur unendlichen Spirale fertig!

Just a few more meters of I-Cord, then the eternal spiral shawl is finished!

Vom Hygge CAL habe ich Teil 7 fertig - und seit gestern wartet Teil 8, das Stick-Chart für den zweiten Teil des Mittelteils - der muss aber noch warten!


I finished part 7 of the Hygge CAL - and part 8 is waiting since yesterday. It's the second part of the large cross stitch middle part - but this still has to wait!
