Cheyenne - a beautiful town - eine wunderschöne Stadt

Von den Städten, die ich (bisher) in den USA kennenlernen durfte, hat mir Cheyenne eindeutig am besten gefallen - ich bin nun mal keine Großstadtpflanze :)!

Cheyenne I like best of all the towns in the US, I was able to see (yet). Yes, I'm a country girl :)!

Heute ein paar meiner persönlichen Eindrücke von dieser Stadt.
Cheyenne ist Hauptstadt des Bundesstaates Wyoming, mehr dazu könnt ihr hier auf Wikipedia lesen.

Wenn man aus Colorado Richtung Cheyenne fährt, begreift man, warum die Plains so heißen - bis Denver Hochgebirge, und dann kommt Ebene, Flachland, weit und breit nur Mais und sonst nix. Und im Hintergrund kann man die Rocky Mountains sehen.

If you drive from Colorado to Cheyenne, you understand why the Plains have got that name - up to Denver you drive through high mountains, then it is plain, flat, corn as far as you can see and nothing else.
In the background you can see the Rocky Mountains.






Die Dia-Show gibt einen Eindruck von der beeindruckenden Hinfahrt bei herrlichstem Wetter, auf der wir sogar eine Büffelherde sehen konnten. Die Rückfahrt bei strömendem Regen war dann weniger spektakulär :).

The slide show gives an impression of our drive to Cheyenne during wonderful sunshine. We were able to see a herd of buffalos! The way back with hard rain was not so spectacular :).

Gewohnt haben wir im Historischen Plains Hotel - nachdem wir wegen penetranten Parfüm-Gestanks und dann auch noch schmutziger Betten in der ersten Nacht um 1 Uhr umgezogen waren, war unser Aufenthalt im zweiten Zimmer dann nett, das Hotel selbst beeindruckend.

We lodged in the Historic Plains Hotel. After we changed rooms at 1 a.m. because of penetrant parfume stink and then a dirty bed, our stay in the second room was nice. The hotel is amazing!

Die Plaza von Cheyenne ist wunderschön!
Stadtgeschichte wird dort nicht nur auf großen Tafeln erklärt, sondern auch in Kunst umgesetzt.

The history of Cheyenne is not only explained on large boards but is also shown in art.

Am meisten hat mich dieses Pferd aus Metallteilen aus der Geschichte des  Bergbaus und der Eisenbahn beeindruckt.

For me most impressing was this horse statue made of metal parts of the history of mining and railway.

 

Genau so eindrucksvoll: amerikanische Geschichte, auf  ca. 3 m hohe Cowboy-Stiefel gemalt.
