Quick Change Artist - Mal eben gestrickt - Fast and easy

Da habe ich mir diese wunderschöne Winterjacke von HKB-Dress aus Kuschelfleece im Granny-Häkelmuster im großen Auktionshaus ersteigert - und dann stelle ich fest, dass ich dazu kein einziges passendes Tuch habe :)!
Genau passend hat Petra Neumann ihre kostenlose Anleitung für den Quick Change Artist veröffentlicht, ein Rollkragen-Kapuzen-Teilchen mit dicker Wolle!

I was so proud to have bought this beautiful winter coat by online auction - it is made of the most cuddly fleece by HKB-Dress and shows a granny square pattern. And then I found out I had not a single matching scarf or shawl :)!
Exactly then Petra Neumann released her free pattern for Quick Change Artist, a turtle neck-hood thingy knitted with bulky yarn!

Das Teilchen zu stricken war Sache von einem Abend - wobei ich ein paar Veränderungen gemacht habe :).
Da mein dickes Merino von der Drachenwolle etwas dünner als Petras Originalgarn ist, habe ich 70 statt 60 Maschen aufgenommen und jeweils 5 statt 3 Mustersätze gestrickt.

To knit this was made in one evening - even though I had to make a few changes :).
My yarn, bulky Merino by Drachenwolle, is not as bulky as the original yarn, so I cast on 70 instead of 60 stitches and knitted 5 instead of 3 pattern repeats each.

Da mir meine Farbwechsel-Stellen überhaupt nicht gefielen, musste ich mir etwas einfallen lassen - Garn hatte ich nämlich noch eine Menge übrig!

The place where the colors change I did not like at all, so I had to get an idea how to change this - I even had quite a lot of yarn left!

Vor allem auf der Rückseite gefiel mir diese Stelle überhaupt nicht, und die Rückseite kann man ja beim Umklappen des Kragens sehen.


Esp. the wrong side I did not like at all, and the wrong side will be visible if you wear the thingy as a turtleneck.

Also habe ich einen losen 6-Maschen-Zopf über jeweils 6 Reihen gestrickt, mit dem lila Garn für die Vorderseite, mit dem gelben Garn für die Rückseite.
Für jede nach außen gewölbte Rippe eine Zopfdrehung.

So I knitted a 6 stitch cable and turned every 6th row. I took the violet yarn for the right side and the yellow yarn for the wrong side.
For every outward ridge I made one cable turn.

Da ich den Anfangsfaden sehr lang gelassen hatte, konnte ich damit den Zopf auf die Rippen nähen, mit jeweils nur einem Stich, den ich dann mit einem Knoten gesichert habe, dazwischen ist ausreichend Faden frei - so behält der Quick Change Artist seine Elastizität und die Wechselstelle ist abgedeckt.

I had left the yarn tail at the beginning very long so that I could use it to sew the cable to the ridges. I sew only 1 stitch per ridge and fixed it by a knot. The yarn between the stitches I left long enough for the Quick Change Artist to be stretched. By doing this, the cowl stays very elastic and the color changes are invisible.

Und so sieht die Rückseite jetzt aus, das Fadengewurschtel durch die Spannfäden ist unsichtbar!

Der nur angeheftete Zopf macht jede Bewegung mit.

Na klar, das Finishing des Quick Change Artist hat länger gedauert als das Stricken - aber das ist halt oft so :)!

Auch die nach außen geklappte linke Seite sieht gut aus.

Und ich habe immer noch etwas Wolle übrig!!!!!!

Die Garnlieferung von Vonnywool ist gestern schon gekommen (DANKE!!!!!), so dass ich an Mutters Pfeilraupe noch 8 Reihen stricken konnte, bis das Angel alle war - ich hoffe, die Sendung des noch aufgetriebenen blassrosa Knäulchens aus Großbritannien kommt auch bald :)!

The new yarn twisted by Vonnywool already arrived yesterday (THANK YOU!!!!!), so I could add 8 more rows to Mum's Pfeilraupe until I ran out of Angel - I hope the single ball of pale pink Angel will arrive very soon, I was able to catch one in Great Britain :)!
