Abflug - Takeoff

Morgen früh um 6 geht's los zum Flughafen! Ich bin so aufgeregt, dass mir gut die Hälfte des heutigen Tages erstmal mit einer satten Migräne verloren ging.... Der Koffer ist (fast) fertig gepackt, ich sitze an Brigittes Korrekturen meines englischen Anleitungstextes für den Twilight Swing, ich muss die zweite Stulpe noch zu Ende stricken und zusammennähen ..... und mein Handgepäck packen! Ich freu mich riesig, und ich hab mächtig Muffensausen!

..... und ich freue mich riesig,

• dass mittlerweile über 700 Leute Nadas Dreambird zusanneb stricken!

• dass unsere Ravelry-Gruppe das 2000te Mitglied feiern konnte!

• über eure vielen lieben Wünsche für meine USA-Reise! DANKE!

Tomorrow at 6 a.m. I'll start to the airport! I am sooo excited - just lost most of this day on a heavy migraine attack .... The suitcase is (nearly) packed, I am working on Brigitte's corrections on my Twilight Swing instructions, I still have to finish the second wristlet ..... and pack my hand luggage! I am so happy about my journey, and I am trembling in my boots :)!

Nada's Dreambird KAL 2

Das ist jetzt Nadas  gutes Foto vom Dreambird ohne Blaustich - und mir gefällt er blaustichig fast besser :)!
Eingeschlagen hat der Vogel wie eine Bombe: Immer noch (!!!!!) auf Platz 1 der Ravelry-Hitparade, mit jetzt 1619 Herzchen, Tendenz minütlich steigend!
Hier ist jetzt der Link zur Anleitung - ohne jegliche Swing-Vorkenntnisse machbar!
36 Projekte gibt's schon, geschätzte 300 Leute machen beim gemeinsamen Stricken (Knit Along) mit, parallel deutsch und englisch.), gut 100 neue Gruppenmitglieder in unserer Ravelry-Gruppe Swing-Knitting bisher, - und ich habe wenigstens schon mal das Material für meinen Traumvogel entscheiden :).

The Dreambird made an impact! Still (!!!!) No 1 of the Ravelry pattern hit parade, up to now 1619 fave hearts, increasing every minute!
Here is the link to the pattern - you can knit it without knowing anything about Swing-Knitting!
Already 36 projects, about 300 people (my estimation) do the knit along together paralelly in German and English, more than 100 new members in our Ravelry group Swing-Knitting up to now -  and I decided on the yarns I'll use for my first Dreambird :).

Diese drei Varianten standen zur Vorauswahl:

Ein NEUES Zitron-Garn noch ohne Namen, das Ende des Jahres erscheinen wird - und von dem ich alles, was es bisher gibt, angestaubt habe :),
dieses neue Garn mit einem langen Farbverlauf einmal in Kombination mit violetter Zeitlos, einmal in Kombination mit Zeitlos in amnthrazit.

These are the variations I chose first:
A NEW Zitron yarn still without a name that is going to be ready by the end of the year. Everything there is of this yarn I was allowed to take! This yarn with a long color flow I can combine with Zeitlos in violet or anthracite.




Und noch ein NEUES Zitron-Garn, auch noch im Entwicklungszustand, ein sündhaft weiches 100% Kid-Mohair, das auch Ende des Jahres erscheinen wird und von dem ich (bis auf 30 Gramm) den gesamten Probestrang abstauben durfte :)!, kombiniert mit der Traumseide in anthrazit.

And another NEW yarn that is still developed, a sinfully soft 100% kid mohair. I was allowed to taking  the nearly complete test hank (just leaving them 30 g :)) - this one combined with the Traumseide in anthracite.


Ich habe mich jetzt entschieden, meinen ersten Dreambird so zu machen:

Anfangen "darf" ich aber noch länger nicht, heul ......
Dafür bin ich bei meinem neu gestrickten Twilight Swing jetzt schon beim letzten Abschnitt, dann nur noch Seitennähte, Arm- und Halsabschlüsse und das passende Paar Stulpen dazu - ICH SCHAFF ES RECHTZEITIG!!!!!!!
Und danach mit genau so viel Hochdruck an meinen Sanduhr-Rock, den will ich schließlich in New York anziehen können!
Brigitte hat mir auch turbomäßig die englischen Korrekturen der Anleitung gemacht, die muss ich jezt "nur noch" alle einpflegen - und auch damit werde ich rechtzeitig fertig!

In 3 Tagen fliege ich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how I decided to do my first Dreambird.
But I'm not "allowed" to start at once, sniff ....
I'll finish my second Twilight Swing instead, still one section, the side seams, finishing arm and neckline and knitting the matching pair of wristlets - I'M GOING TO MAKE IT IN TIME!!!!
And then I'll turbo-knit my Hourglass Skirt, I want to wear it in New York!
Brigitte has corrected and americanized my translation of the Twilight Swing pattern with top speed, I "only" have to write all corrections now into the pattern text - and this I'll also manage in time!

In  3 days' time I'm taking off!!!!!!!!!!

Dreambird KAL

Ich darf's schon zeigen - Nadas neuestes Meisterstück, den Dreambird!
Ich bin hin und weg, das MUSS ich auch unbedingt stricken, ich nehm's als Pausenprjekt mit in die USA - da werden mich garantiert viele auf das gefiederte Abenteuer ansprechen und ich kann schön wohlverdiente Reklame für das superschöne Design laufen :)!

Entworfen hat Nada das Tuch als Projekt für den Knit-ALong in unserer Swing-Knitting Ravelry-Gruppe , alle Informationen zu diesem KAL, den Birgit und Nada gemeinsam organisieren, findet ihr hier!

Ich strick dann mal schnell weiter an meinem Twilight Swing - fehlt noch ein gutes Drittel .....


I have Nadas permission to present it - Nada's newest master piece, the Dreambird!
I am really hooked! I MUST knit that, I think I'll take it with me to the US as a leisure project - and I'm sure many knitters will ask me about this feathered adventure - it's worth getting a lot of publicity!

Nada has designed the Dreambird as a Knit-Alomng for our Swing-Knitting Ravelry group.

Halbzeit - Half done

So weit bin ich schon wieder, die Hälfte des neuen Twilight Swing habe ich (fast) fertig!
Und ich übe gerade, vom Ipad aus zu bloggen .... erster Versuch.
Ohne die Hilfe der beiden Wollläden, die mir superschnell und unkompliziert das benötigte Material zugeschickt haben, wär das nie gegangen - danke an www.fadeninsel.de und www.wollart.de!

"Bild der Frau" (maybe the largest German magazine for women) has published an article about Birgit's Knitted Art, nearly one complete page! It is edition 2/2013, today come up for sale.
Who wants to see Birgit's wonderful knitted wall pictures more detailed - on her homepae www.fadenzaubereien.de she shows all her pictures in XL size, and for every picture there is a video about the making of it!
On Birgit's homepage you can also admire her beautiful swing-knitted garments, as well as on her Ravelry account Fadenzaubereien.
By the way, the little photo to the right shows us during our Swing-Spring-Meeting in Birgit's kitchen, we were there when the photo shooting took place!

noch 10 Tage - just 10 days

Heute in 10 Tagen geht's los - erst nach Fort Lauderdale zu Brigitte Elliott, dann nach New York zu Vogue Knitting Live!

...... und das erste Knäuel ist schon verstrickt :)! .... noch 23 Seiten Übersetzung .....

Just another 10 days and I'm off! First to Fort Lauderdale to visit Brigitte Elliott, then to New York to Vogue Knitting Live!

Turbo-Knitting .....

Mein Paket ist in den USA immer noch nicht angekommen. Am 10.12. auf die Post gebracht, am 12.12. im Exportcenter das Land verlassen, seitdem keine Spur .....
Nachdem ich dann vor lauter Aufregung kaum noch schlafen konnte, habe ich entschieden, das Modell noch einmal zu stricken, um es dann höchstpersönlich nach New York mitzunehmen.
Also bin ich heute aktiv geworden: Anruf bei Lanamania, dem deutschen Distributor von Zealana Garnen. 2 Mailboxen besprochen, dann noch eine Mail geschickt - 5 Minuten später die Rückmeldung, Betriebsferien bis 13.01. ---- SCH......!!!!!!

Also habe ich dann alle deutschen Händler für Zealana Garne der Reihe nach abtelefoniert, um mein Material noch einmal zusammen zu bekommen .... Nach 2 Stunden hatte ich es geschafft! Da sind jetzt diverse Pakete auf dem Postweg zu mir, alles geht heute noch raus, so dass es dann spätestens Freitag hier sein wird. Und ich kann mit den 200 g Hauptgarn, die ich noch übrig hatte, schon mal anfangen, gleiche Farbpartie! .....
"Mal eben" 700 g gleich 1790 Meter in 10 Tagen stricken, mit immer noch ziemlich schmerzhafter linker Hand, ächz!!!!!
Aber so kommt das Design dann wenigstens doch noch in New York auf den Laufsteg, natürlich im Handgepäck, das ist es mir wert!!!!!

Ach ja, die Überstzung hab ich auch noch nicht fertig, und von meinem Sanduhr-Rock fehlt auch noch knapp die Hälfte ......
Also bitte nicht wundern, wenn ich hier in den nächsten Tagen etwas sparsam bloggen werde :)!

My package still did not arrive in the US. Dec 10th I brought it to the post office, on Dec 12th it left the country by the export center, no news since then ......
Meanwhile I could not sleep out of worry. So I decided to knit the design again to take it with me to New York, in my hand luggage!
So I became very active today: Phone calls to Lanamania, the German distributor of Zealana yarns. Babbled on two mailboxes, sent an e-mail - 5 minutes later the feedback: Company holidays up to Jan 13th ---- SH.....!!!!!!

So I grasped the list of German LYSs who trade Zealana and the telephone and rang them up in a row to get the material I need ..... 2 hours later it is done! Several parcels are on their way to my home now, they all left the shops by today so that I'll get them by Friday. And I can start with the main yarn that was left after the first design, it's the same dye lot!.....
"Just" 700g means 1790 meters in 10 days time to knit, with my left hand still aching a lot, groan!!!!
But that way the design will reach New York - in my hand luggage of course! -  and walk the catwalk there - thiat's worth it to me!!!!!

By the way, the translation isn't finished yet and my Hourglass Skirt is still missing half it's width .....
So please don't wonder about me blogging scarcely the next days :)!
