2 Tage, bevor Petra aus dem Urlaub kommt, ist ihr Geburtstagsgeschenk für den 13. September fertig geworden - das wird nämlich eine Überraschung (sie liest hier nicht mit)!

Dieses Eulenkissen hat zwei Taschen am Bauch - eine habe ich passend fürs Handy abgenäht, die andere noch so groß gelassen, dass beide Fernbedienungen hineinpassen.
This owl pillow has two pockets on its belly - one I made in size for her mobile, the other one is large enough to hold both remote controls.

I made the pillow after a German pattern on Crazypatterns. I can't recommend this pattern - lots of mistakes in it, and once you have got used to a style without any grammar or spelling, you can even read it ...
Auch die Mengenangaben des empfohlenen Garns stimmen nicht - obwohl ich schon das dünnere der beiden Garnempfehlungen genommen habe, reichte die dunklere Hauptfarbe nicht aus, dafür hatte ich dann von der hellen Hauptfarbe fast 2 Knäule übrig ...
Even the yarn amounts for the recommended yarn were false - I chose the thinner one of the two recommended yarns, and the amount of the dark main color was wrong, instead nearly 2 balls of the lighter color were left over ...
Ca. 500 g Füllwatte sollten für das gesamte Kissen ausreichen - bei dem löcherigen Hauptmuster wäre die Füllwatte allerdings überall herausgekommen .... Ich habe das Eulenkissen dann mit einem 400 g Kissen gefüllt, das komplett darin verschwand und das ganze zu einem labberigen Sack verschandelt hätte. Also habe ich in den unteren Teil ein ganzes, mit Styroporkügelchen gefülltes Nackenkissen versenkt und darüber das Kissen - für Füße und Ohren habe ich dann reguläre Füllwatte genommen.
According to the pattern, you needed approx. 500 g of fiberfill - but with the holey main pattern, the fiberfill would have stuck out everywhere ... I filled the pillow with a 400 g cushion, it disappeared completely in it and would have made the owl into a lumpy sack. So I took a neck bolster filled with styrofoam balls and put it in the bottom, and then the complete cushion - for feet and ears I took regular fiberfill.
Das Puzzle aus vielen kleinen Teilen zusammenzusetzen, das hat Spaß gemacht - anhand der unscharfen Bilder in der Anleitung ging das ganz gut, denn der Text dazu war sehr sparsam.
Joining the puzzle made of a lot of small parts was fun - the blurry photos in the pattern were a help, the text about it was quite sparing.
Jetzt ist sie fertig, mir gefällt sie, und hoffentlich wird sich das Geburtstagskind darüber freuen!
