Fit for Fun - die Tasche - the bag

Gestern abend habe ich die Tasche aus dem "Fit for Fun" Probestück fertig gestrickt.

Yesterday night I finished knitting the "Fit for Fun" bag.

Heute kam dann der spannende Moment - das Filzen! Mit 15 Tennisbällen und Vollwaschmitel durfte das gute Stück eine Stunde lang bei 40°C in der Waschmaschine spazieren fahren - ein bisschen Magendrücken hatte ich ja schon, ob das gut geht :).
Die Tennisbälle dienen dazu, das Teil gleichmäßig und ständig im Waschwasser zu schlagen.

Today came the thrilling part: Felting it in the washing machine. My bag and 15 tennis balls went for a journey: 1 hour, 40C, normal laundry detergent. I was so excited whether all went the way I wanted it!
The tennis balls beat the knitted thing constantly with constant pressure in the washing water.

Tadaaaa! Der Waschgang ist durch, und ich hole das Ding aus der Maschine.

Tadaaa! The washer has finsihed, I can get the thing out of the washing machine.

Nach ein ein bisschen In-Form-Zupfen darf die Tasche jetzt in aller Ruhe trocken. Mir gefällt sie!

I did a bit of twitching it into shape, and now the bag can dry in peace. I like it!

Das Garn ist von ICE: 600 g Hand dyed Wool Bulky als Strophengarn und 500 g Filzy Wool als Pausengarn hat die Tasche gefressen. Gefilzt ist sie jetzt ca. 40x26x16 cm groß.

The yarn I used is ICE. 600 g Hand dyed Wool Bulky as yarn for stanzas and 500 g Filzy Wool as yarn for pauses it took. The felted bag now is about 40x26x16 cm.

Wenn die Tasche trocken ist, zeige ich euch ein Tragefoto.

When the bag has dried, I'll show you a photo how it looks.

Helmstedt 2014 - Trunk Show

Was ich euch noch gar nicht erzählt habe:
Wir werden in Helmstedt eine Trunk Show machen!
Was das ist?
Ich werde alle Teile aus meinem Buch mitbringen (irgendwie passt das schon in Brigittas Auto .....), und dann könnt ihr nach Herzenslust gucken, fühlen, anprobieren.
Ich habe alle Kleidungsstücke in den Größen S (36/38) und XL (48-52) einmal gestrickt, zum Teil aus unterschiedlichen Materialien. Dann könnt ihr gleich sehen und ausprobieren, was euch wie passt!

What I didn't tell you yet:
We will have a Trunk Show in Helmstedt!
I'll bring all the designs of my new book with me (somehow this has to fut into Brigitta's little car .....), then you can see, feel try on.
All garments I have knitted in sizes S and XL, sometimes with different yarns. You can try on and see what size you'll need and how the garment fits you!

In Vörå findet vom 29.06. bis 05.07.2014 das Nordic Knitting Symposium statt, und ich bin als Lehrer fürs Swing-Stricken eingeladen!!!!! Ich freu mich so!!!!!!!

In Vörå this year's Nordic Knitting Symposium will be from June 29th to July 5th. I am so proud and so happy they invited me to teach Swing-Knitting!!!!!!!!

Drachenwolle Mega-Paket Nr. 1 - Drachenwolle mega parcel no1

WOW! Teil 1 meiner Mega-Drachenwolle-Bestellung ist heute angekommen - und die sind soooooo schön, dass es mir (!) fast die Sprache verschlägt!!!
Schaut selbst, ist das nicht eine Pracht?!?!?!?
Morgen kommt Teil 2 der Lieferung, hoffe ich - und dann kann Christiane meinen Freudenschrei sicherlich bis nach Mössingen zur Drachenwolle hören, ohne Telefon :)!

WOW! Part 1 of my gigantic Drachenwolle order has arrived today! They are sooooo beautiful, it nearly made me (!) speechless :)!!!
Look for yourself, isn't this magnificent ?!?!?!?!
Tomorrow part 2 of my order will arrive, I hope so - and then Christiane of Drachenwolle can hear my crow even in Moessingen, without a phone :)!

"Fit for Fun" wächst - "Fit for Fun" it growing

Ich stricke und schreibe ....... für den "Fit for Fun"-Kurs in Helmstedt!

So lange ich noch keine Formatvorlagen vom Buchverlag habe, kann ich meine Dokumente noch nicht endgültig überarbeiten, also nutze ich die "freie" Zeit!

I'm knitting and writing .... for the "Fit for Fun" class in Helmstedt!

As long as I don't have the style sheets from my publisher, I can't work on the documents for the book. So I use the "free" time!

Hier warte ich auf die Woll-Nachlieferung, um es zu Ende zu stricken - oder hättet ihr etwa geglaubt, dass ich bei diesem Projekt mal mit der Wolle auskomme :)????

With this piece, I'm waiting for new yarn to arrive - did you really think I succeeded to estimate my yarn correctly for this knitting :)?????

Ach ja, und den ersten dicken Nadelfehler hab ich schon gefunden :), das heisst dann ab Strophe 9 alles neu schreiben ...... das mal für die, die glauben, ich mache keine Fehler :)!!!

BTW, the first mistake in my plans of pin positions I already found in stanza 8 - this means, I'll have to write everything new from stanza 9 on  ..... news just for those who believe I don't make mistakes :)!

Gefunden habe ich den Fehler, als ich es "für schön" und Step-Fotos noch einmal gestrickt habe, mit der traumhaft schönen, kuscheligen handgefärbten  Ein und Alles von der Drachenwolle.

Was das wird, wenn es fertig ist? Lasst euch überraschen!

I found the mistake when I knitted the piece again "for fine" and for step photos. This is the beautiful super soft hand dyed Ein und Alles yarn of Drachenwolle I use.

Gestern habe ich den Iddo Schal in meinen Ravelry Store eingestellt, ein herrentaugliches Schalmodell mit Elementen des Swing-Stricks, passend zur Iddo Mütze.

Der Schal kostet 3,50€.



Die Anleitung für diesen Schal habe ich auf zwei Arten geschrieben:

1. als Anleitung, bei der Reihe für Reihe die Maschen gezählt werden müssen.
2. als Anleitung für Swing-Stricker™. Beim Iddo Schal kommen Zielnadeln und Ausgleichnadeln zum Einsatz, werden jedoch nicht ausführlich erklärt.

Alle Stricktechniken, die über das Grundwissen hinausgehen, erkläre ich im Anhang.

Iddo Schal und Iddo Mütze gibt es auch zusammen als eBook für €5,00.

Yesterday I published the Iddo Scarf in my Ravelry Store. It's a scarf suitable for men as well, matching the Iddo Hat.

 

The pattern instructions I wrote in two different ways:

1. as a row-by row instruction to count stitches.
2. as an instruction for Swing-Knitters™.

The attachment explains some knitting techniques that are not very basic.

Und noch etwas: Monika hat mich gerade angerufen - 2 der Kursteilnehmerinnen  für den Swing-Stricken Grundkurs in Simmern im Hunsrück mussten leider aus Krankheitsgründen absagen (Gute Besserung!) - deshalb gibt es hier für Kurzentschlossene noch 2 freie Plätze!
Wir werden am Freitag, dem 24.01. eine Stunde später starrten - der Kurs beginnt also um 15 Uhr, nicht um 14 Uhr wie angekündigt!

Another news: Monika just gave me a phone call to tell me that 2 of the students of the Swing-Knitting Live Class in Simmern, Hunsrück, had to cancel their participation due to illness (Get well soon!). So there are 2 free places for spontaneously interested people! 
We will start 1 hour later on Friday Jan 24th. The class starts at 3 p.m. not at 2 p.m.!

On a knitting just 56 stitches wide, we will revive your knowledge about light and dark stanzas and the pin dance. And I'll give you some hints what you can make with the swatch!

Auf dem Kursblatt seht ihr noch Beispiele für den Nadeltanz - hier ist mein erster Anlauf für ein solches Übungsstück mit dickem Garn.

The class sheet shows you examples of several pin dances - this is my first approach to a swatch with big needles.
