Kurzurlaub in der Barumer Oase - A short vacation in the Barum oasis

Vier Tage Auszeit bei Birgit Fadenzaubereien in Barum - das war wunderschön und erholsam - und nötig :)!

Four days time-out at Birgit Fadenzaubereien in Barum - that was wonderful and relaxing - and badly needed :)!

Leider mussten einige krankheitsbedingt und wegen anderer Verpflichtungen unser Frühjahrstreffen absagen - schade, ihr habt uns gefehlt, und GUTE BESSERUNG!

Unfortunately, some of us had to cancel our Spring Meeting because of illness and other obligations - we really missed you, get well soon!

Nachdem Birgit und ich unsere Fotos zusammengeworfen hatten, kamen wir doch schon auf insgesamt 20 Fotos :) - so wenige gab's noch nie!

Birgit and I together made a total of 20 photos - that's minus record :)!

Viel gestrickt, viel geredet, die Seele baumeln lassen - richtig schön war's!


We knitted a lot, we talked a lot, we took a break from everyday life - it was wonderful!

 

Ich habe meinen Bogen-Loop beendet und dann auch gleich bei Birgit gewaschen und gespannt - ihr Wäscheplatz ist genial dafür!



I finished my loop for the Bow Class and washed and blocked it directly - her clothes line is just perfect!

 

Das nächste Beispielgestrick für den Bogenkurs in Helmstedt konnte schon ein gutes Stück wachsen!


My next example for the Bow Class in Helmstedt has already grown quite a bit!

Seit gestern abend hat der Alltag mich (leider) wieder: Diesmal hat es knapp 8 Stunden gedauert, die Mails und PMs von 4 Tagen abzuarbeiten .... zwei muss ich noch beantworten, die heftig zeitaufwendig sind ...
Und weiter geht's mit den Helmstedt-Vorbereitungen: noch gut 120 Seiten übersetzen, Druckaufträge fertigmachen, Kurs-Präsentationen und Tischvorlagen erstellen, ....

Since yesterday evening, normality has come back: This time it lastet about 8 hours to work off all e-mail and PMs of 4 days ... I still have to answer 2 of them that will cost a lot of time ...
And I work on on the Helmstedt classes: still about 120 pages to translate, getting ready and ordering the print jobs, making up the Power Point presentations for the workshops, making up the class sheets ...

Es bogt und wogt - It's bowing and waving

Letzte Nacht um 2 hatte ich endlich die VAT MOSS-Meldung für das 1. Quartal 2015 draußen - und kann euch berichten, was sich im Gegensatz zum Vorjahr geändert hat:
1. brauche ich jetzt 8 komplette Arbeitstage statt vorher 3, um ein Quartal zu sortieren, kontieren und zu buchen - während ich vorher 3 Einnahme-Kategorien hatte (Deutschland, EU, Rest), muss jetzt nach EU-Ländern getrennt sortiert und gebucht werden.
2. hatte ich sonst für ein Quartal einen knappen Ordner voll, weil nicht jeder Einzelbeleg ausgedruckt werden musste - jetzt sind es bereits 2,5 Ordner voll, ich muss ja für jeden einzelnen Paypal-Verkauf nachweisen, in welches Empfängerland er gegangen ist.
3. gibt's natürlich auch die Oberschlauen, die eine deutsche Paypal-Adresse haben und über eine Offshore-IP kaufen - Ravelry berechnet dann natürlich keine Umsatzsteuer auf die Anleitung, die darf ich dann aus eigener Tasche zahlen ...

Last night at 2 a.m. I had finally finished the VAT MOSS for the first quarter of 2015 - and I can talk about the changes compared with last year:
1. I now need 8 complete working days instead of 3 to sort all papers, assign them to the proper accounts and do the book keeping. Before I had 3 categories (Germany, EU, Non-EU), now I have 30, one for each EU country.
2. Last year I had less than one folder for a quarter of a year - I wasn't foced to print every single Paypal receipt. Now it is already 2 1/2 folders for the first quarter. I have to prove for every single Paypal receipt in which country the recipient lives.
3. I love these smarty-pants who live in Germany according to their Paypal address, but who use an offshore IP address for their computer. Ravelry counts them as Non-EU and VAT free, and the VAT part of these buys I have to pay myself ...

So ganz nebenbei bereite ich den Bogenkurs für Helmstedt vor, da fehlen mir noch ein paar Beispielstricks!

Aus einem Knallfrosch von 100Farbspiele entsteht hier ein Moebius-Loop, und das Garn für das nächste Beispiel liegt schon bereit, ist aber noch nicht fotografiert :)!

As relaxation, I prepare the bow class for Helmstedt, I still need some more examples to show!

This will become a Moebius loop, made with the color Knallfrosch (squib) by 100Farbspiele yarn.
The yarn for the next example is already chosen, but I did not take any photos yet.

Heute hole ich erst einmal alles an Mails und Verwaltung nach, was während der Steuer-Orgie liegen geblieben ist - und ein bisschen die Sonne genießen möchte ich auch mal :)!

Today I am going to catch up with all mails and organizational stuff that I have left during my tax orgy - and I'd really like to enjoy the wonderful sun for a few hours as well :)!

Die neue Polaris - fertig gestrickt!

Gestern ist sie fertig geworden, die neu gestrickte Polaris!
Das ist das Tuch, das ich "eigentlich" schon schreiben konnte, bei dem dann aber der Mittelteil meiner Aufzeichnungen verschwunden war ...
Auf die neuen Mitschriebe passe ich supergut auf - und ich packe sie auch hoch und weit genug weg, damit Linda sie nicht erwischen kann :)!

Bis ich es schaffe, das Tuch auch zu schreiben - das wird allerdings dauern - erst einmal muss ich alle Workshops für Helmstedt schreiben und davon noch gut 200 Seiten übersetzen - und die blöde EU-Steuer für das 1. Quartal 2015 machen.

Yesterday I finished knitting it - the new-knit of  Polaris shawl!

Polaris is a shawl I already had been ready to write - if I had not lost the 2 pages with the middle part of the shawl ...
So I had to knit it again to take the missing notes - and I will take very good care of my notes now, storing them inside a closet so that Linda won't reach them :)!

It will last some time until I'll be able to actually write the shawl pattern - first I have to finish writing all my new workshops for Helmstedt in German, then a good 200 pages have to be translated - and I have to make the f*** VAT tax declaration for the first quarter of 2015.

Polaris ist aus jeweils 1000 Meter (= 250 g) von zwei handgefärbten Farbverläufen der Wollelfe gestrickt - Ocean Breece und Retro.

Polaris is made of two 1000 meters (= 250 g) hand dyed colors of Wollelfe - Ocean Breece and Retro.

Und das ist übrig - 2 Gramm Ocean Breeze und 32 Gramm = 132 Meter Retro!

And that's what is left over - 2 grams of Ocean Breeze and 32 grams = 132 meters of Retro!

So war Polaris mit nach Bad Bevensen in den Urlaub mit meiner Mutter gefahren.

That was Polaris when we left for the vacations with my Mom.

In Bad Bevensen hat das Tuch dann eine Menge vom wunderschönen Kurpark gesehen.


In Bad Bevensen Polaris saw a lot of the lovely park.

Viele der Stepfotos konnte ich auf dem Hotelbett machen - im Gegensatz zu meinem Wasserbett zu Hause nahm diese Matratze Stecknadeln nicht übel :)!

I could take a lot of the step photos on my hotel bed - this mattress could stand pins, not like my waterbed at home :)!

Wieder zu Hause, es fehlten nur noch die Abschlussblende und der angestrickte I-Cord rundherum ... vorgestern Abend habe ich Polaris dann endlich fertig bekommen :)!


Back home, there was only the border and the finishing I-Cord still missing ... I finally finished Polaris on Wednesday night :)!

Gestern bei dem herrlichen Wetter durfte das Tuch baden und trocknen.


Yesterday the weather was so fine that I washed it and let it dry.

Gestern nachmittag war es schon trocken - und Kiki hatte gerade etwas Zeit und sogar genau das passende Shirt an!

Yesterday afternoon it was already dry - and Kiki had a few minutes, and she was already wearing the matching T-shirt!

Mutters Oster-Loop - My Mom's Easter Cowl

Der Oster-Loop für meine Mutter ist fertig - gestern Abend beim Besuch bei ihr beendet :)!

Dafür bin ich dann auch ein gutes Stündchen später heimgefahren als geplant :)!


The Easter Cowl for my Mom is finished - yesterday night, when I visited her.

I came back home good an hour later than planned, but the cowl is finished :)!

Das wunderschöne handgesponnene Garn habe ich in Bad Bevensen erstanden, bei unserem gemeinsamen Urlaub dort. Das uni Kombigarn ist ein Rest aus dem Stash.

Der Loop ist ein Moebius, ich habe daran einige Experimente zum Bogen als Element des Swing-Strickens gemacht, als eine Vorbereitung meines Bogen-Kurses in Helmstedt beim Swing-Strick-Treffen im Mai.

The beautiful hand spun yarn I bought in Bad Bevensen during my vacations with my Mom there. The solid yarn is a leftover I had in my stash.

The cowl is a Moebius. I used it to make some more experiments on the bow as a Swing-Knitting element, preparing my live class in Helmstedt in May during the 5th International Swing-Knitting Meeting.

Ich habe zwar Reihe für Reihe mitgeschrieben gehabt, aber aufgrund von Lindas Osterüberraschung für mich wird es keine Anleitung dazu geben :)!

I took row by row notes, but there will be no pattern for this - thanks to Linda’s Easter surprise for me …

Der abschließende I-Cord war eine Zitterpartie, ob ich mit dem Garn auskomme - genau 1,50 Meter sind übrig!


The attached I-Cord all around the cowl was quite thrilling - up to the last few stitches I did not know whether the unique yarn would last for the complete round - the leftover is 1.50 meters.

Der Loop muss noch gewaschen und gespannt werden, das will meine Mutter selbst machen - Hauptsache, er ist fertig und sie kann ihn gleich nutzen!

The cowl still has to be washed and blocked - these last steps my Mom will do herself - she was so happy I really finished the cowl and could leave it with her :)!

Sorry für die schlechten Fotos - als der Loop endlich fertig war, war es schon dunkel, und der Blitz bei der Handy-Kamera ist einfach schlecht! Ich wollte aber nicht noch die große Kamera mit Bus und Bahn durch die Gegend schleppen ....


Sorry for the bad photos - when the cowl was finally finished, it was already dark. The camera of the mobile phone is just bad if you use the built-in flashlight - but I really was not willing to drag the large camera around using bus and train ...
