Herrlichstes Wetter beim Stricktreff - und endlich die Gelegenheit, Fotos zu machen!

Most beautiful weather at our Stricktreff - so we had the chance to take a lot of photos!

Diesmal in nur kleiner Runde - allen Kranken gute schnelle Besserung! Wir haben euch vermisst!

This time we were only a small group - all who are ill, get well soon! We really missed you!

Angelika hat den Pullover fertig, an dem sie beim letzten Stricktreff gearbeitet hat - Mrs. Weasley Nr. 1 von Rubator.
Das war ein Teststrick, die Anleitung wird in den nächsten Tagen veröffentlicht.

Geschafft! - I did it!

Da liegt sie nun und trocknet vor sich hin, die Melnessa Tunika!

So sah sie vor dem Waschen aus.

Natürlich bin ich meinem Garn "nur bedingt"ausgekommen - während der erste Ärmel im Farbverlauf endet, endet der zweite Ärmel mit Kontrast-Blau - jetzt kann ich aber ziemlich genaue Angaben zur benötigten Garnmenge machen :)!

Of course my yarn didn't reach the end of sleeve 2 - while the first sleeve ends in the color run, the second one ends with contrasting blue - but now I can make quite exact info about the yarn you'll need :)!

Die Fältchen in der "Quadratur des Kreises" haben sich komplett geglättet - jetzt kann ich die passende Anleitung für den Live-Kurs in Helmstedt schreiben!

The little folds in the "squaring the circle" part did even out completely - now I can write the instructions for the live class in Helmstedt!

Wollium Maxi-Kolibri, 1 x 900 m, und 1 x 750 m - und das ist übrig bei ca. Größe 44 :)!

Jetzt muss das Wetter nur noch so schön bleiben wie es die Wettervorhersage verspricht - dann kann ich am Sonntag beim Stricktreff Fotos machen!

Now only the weather has to stay as fine as the forecast promises - then I can make photos on Sunday during Stricktreff!

Da liege ich tatsächlich mal in meinem Zeitplan!
Der erste Ärmel ist fertig!

Wenn ich heute und morgen den 2. Ärmel schaffe, dann direkt wasche, dann müsste die Tunika zum Stricktreff am Sonntag trocken sein - wenn das Wetter mitspielt :)!

The first sleeve is finished!

If I have finished the second sleeve by tomorrow night, then wash at once, then the tunic will hopefully be dried by Sunday for Stricktreff - if the weather stays well :)!

Und wenn ich mit diesen Restchen für den 2. Ärmel auskomme ...

Letzten Sonntag gab es schon einmal Anprobe - nein, Mutter weiß nicht, dass der Pullover für sie sein wird - hab ihr erzählt, dass ich nur angezogen die notwendige Ärmellänge messen kann :)!
Stimmt ja auch irgendwie :)!

Und da war auch erst die halbe Unterkante abgekettet ...

Last Sunday Melnessa had her first try-on - no, my Mom doesn't know that the tunic will be for her - I told her that I can only measure the sleeve length that I have to knit when the tunic is worn :)!
Isn't a lie really :)!

On Sunday, only half of the bottom edge was cast off ...

2. Versuch - 2nd try

Na, das sieht doch deutlich besser aus!

Ein paar kleine Wellen zeigt das Gestrick noch, aber die werden sich beim Waschen aushängen!

There are still a few little waves to see but those will even out when the tunic is washed!

Noch 2 Abschnitte mit immer mehr Maschen, und erst am Ende kann man wirklich richtig sehen, ob es diesmal gut ist ...

Gestern hab ich echt Pause von der Melnessa Tunika gebraucht - da hab ich Teil 3 vom Jacarandal CAL gemacht - das Muster macht unheimlich Spaß, Aufhören ging nicht :)!

Yesterday I needed a break from the Melnessa tunic - so I crocheted part 3 of the Jacaranda CAL - the pattern is so much fun, couldn't stop :)!

 

Maximale Wollausnutzung - Making maximal use of the yarn

Da war ich dann mit der "Quadratur des Kreises" fast fertig, um feststellen zu dürfen, dass es sich heftig wellte ...
Warum?
Weil ich einen Denkfehler und dann noch einen Bewrechnungsfehler drin hatte !!!

Nearly finished with the "squaring the circle" knit - and then I could see that the fabric was heavily bulging ...
Why?
Because I had made an error in reasoning and then an error in calculating !!!

So durfte ich dann die Arbeit von 3 Tagen und ca. 600 Meter langweilig glatt rechtes Gestrick ribbeln -- in ca. 15 Stunden gemacht, in ca. 5 Minuten weg :)!

So I could frog three days' work, about 600 meters of boring stockinette stitch - made in about 15 hours, unmade in 5 minutes :)!

Also noch einmal, neu denken, neu rechnen ---- und vor allem jeden Schritt neu ausführlich beschreiben samt neuer Graphiken und Fotos ... Noch ne Frage, wie ich den gestrigen Tag verbracht habe?????

So again, new deliberations, new calculations ---- and new explaining every step in detail with new graphics and new photos ... Do you really ask how I spent the day yesterday?????

Auf geht's! Ich hoffe, dass ich diesmal keinen Denkfehler mehr drin habe und die Ergänzung der Rundung zum Rechteck faltenfrei klappt!
Drückt mir die Daumen!

Turbo-Stricken - Speed knitting

Am 02.02. ist die Wolle hier angekommen, 2 Bobbel Maxi-Kolibri von Wollium, 900 und 750 Meter feinstes Merino.
Am 03.02. hab ich angefangen :)!

On Feb 2nd the yarn has arrived, 2 cakes of Wollium Maxi-Kolibri, 900 and 750 meters finest merino.
On Feb 3 I started :)!

Das wird noch eine Melnessa-Tunika (für den Live-Kurs in Helmstedt und einen späteren Kursbaustein für fortgeschrittene Swing-Stricker), die diesmal etwas anders aussehen wird: Der Halsausschnitt wird gerade, und ich habe vor, ihr eine gerade Unterkante zu verpassen.

Stand 04. Februar, mitten in der Nacht

This will become another Melnessa tunic (for the live class in Helmstedt and for a coming Swing-Knitting Workshop for advanced Swing-Knitters). And this one will become a bit different: The neckline will be straight and I plan to make the bottom edge straight as well.

Stand gestern! Ich hab es tatsächlich geschafft, den langweiligen Glattrechts-Teil schnell zu stricken statt ihn immer wieder weg zu legen und was anderes zu machen :)!


This was yesterday, and I really succeeded to knit the boring part in stockinette rounds fast instead of putting it away and knitting something different :)!

Gestern hab ich dann geschlagene 8 Stunden an der "Quadratur des Kreises" rumgerechnet - es ist ja nicht nur so, dass ich einen Weg finden muss, um dieser Tunika eine gerade Unterkante zu verpassen ---- ich muss ja auch nachvollziehbar erklären, wie ich es mache, damit es dann jede für ihre Tunika selbst machen kann ...
Und heute probier ich dann, ob mein Rumgerechne wirklich aufgeht --- habe für alle Fälle eine Rettungsleine eingezogen :)!

Yesterday I spent 8 hours (!) trying to square the circle --- it's not only that I have to find a way to make the circle into a rectangle for this tunic ------ I have to find a way of explaining it in a way that the future knitters of this tunic are able to make the calculations for themselves ... 
Today I'll knit my calculations hoping that it will work --- yes, I drew a lifeline :)!

Warum ich so heftig Gas gebe?
Das hat 2 Gründe - einmal soll meine Mutter diese Tunika mit gerader Unterkante zu ihrem Geburtstag am 9. März bekommen, und zweitens will ich sie zum nächsten Stricktreff Ende Februar für Fotos schon fertig haben!
Da kommen ja auch noch Ääääääääääärmel dran .....

Why do I hurry so much?
There are 2 reasons for it - first this tunic will become the birthday present for my Mom for March 9, and second I want to have it finished for a nice foto-shooting during next Stricktreff by the end of February!
And there a re still sleeeeeeeves to add ....

Und statt euch heute das fertige Tuch aus dem Bonita-CAL zeigen zu können, liegt das dann hier und wartet auf Nachschub von Wollbonbon!
Nur noch ca. 40 cm Abschluss mit Popcorns fehlen ....

Das Tuch hat riesig Spaß gemacht, und ich habe eine Menge dabei gelernt!

Und die beiden gut abgelagerten 900 m Bobbel von Wollbonbon (4fädig, 100% Merino, Farbe Calypso) schienen mir dafür genau richtig!

The shawl was real fun, and I learned a lot crocheting it!

And my two cakes of 900 m each Wollbonbon (4ply, 100% merino, color Calypso) habe been waiting for a long time for their perfect project!

Na klar kam auch sowas immer mal wieder vor - falsche Sorte Reliefstäbchen erwischt, hieß dann fast 2 komplette Reihen ribbeln ...

This happened several times - wrong sort of front or back post dcs - meant frogging nearly 2 complete rows ...

Und jetzt hätte eigentlich nur noch eine Reihe gefehlt, aber da war noch so viel von dem schönen Calypso übrig ...

Now just one more row was missing, but there was still lots of the beautiful Calypso left ...

Also habe ich noch ein paar Reihen mehr gehäkelt - um dann mal wieder nicht auszukommen!

Aber toll, dass ich das Garn nachbekomme - auf 4 Meter bereits gehäkelte Popcorns ribbeln und durch einen anderen Abschluss ersetzen hatte ich nicht so wirklich Lust :)!


So I added a few more rows - and then did not have enough yarn!

I am so happy that I'll get more of this yarn - I wasn't looking forward to frogging about 4 meters of crocheted popcorns to then make a different border :)!

Und eigentlich wollte ich das Tuch ja fertig haben, bevor gestern der nächste CAL anfing ...
Clue 1 machte dann so viel Spaß, dass ich nicht aufhören konnte:)!

Da weiß ich jetzt noch nicht so genau, ob ich mit meinen Farben glücklich bin - der nächste Teil kommt nächsten Donnerstag, wenn ich den gehäkelt habe, weiß ich mehr!

I don't know yet whether I'm happy with the colors I chose - next clue will be next Thursday, and when I have finished clue 2, I'll know more!
