Nummer 2 - Number Two

Weihnachtsgeschenk Nummer 2 ist fertig - der Tierhocker Katze nach dem Buch von Anja Toonen "Tierhocker häkeln". 

Das ist übrigens ein richtiger Hocker, zum drauf Sitzen oder Füße drauf ablegen.

Christmas present No. 2 is finished - the cat animal stool made by Anja Toonen's book "Crocheting animal stools" - now I know where the English version of the book is availabe!

It is a real stool, you can sit on it or put your legs upon it.

Wie man die vielen Einzelteile häkelt und zusammensetzt, wird super erklärt.

It is explained very well how to crochet and join the lots of single parts.

Das Gesicht symmetrisch zu bekommen - ich hab da so meine Schwierigkeiten :)

17 Streifen werden dem Tiger einzen gehäkelt und an Gesicht und Körper angenäht

17 stripes - crocheted and to be sewn to the body and head

Und dann sind's plötzlich nur noch 3 Teile - Körper, Kopf, Schwanz - Endspurt!

And then it's only 3 parts - body, head and tail - final spurt!

Und weil eine Freundin wissen wollte, wie lang man an sowas sitzt, habe ich "Buch geführt" - bei mir waren es gut 30 Stunden, davon entfielen etwa 10 Stunden auf das Zusammensetzen.

A friend wanted to know how long it takes to make such a stool, therefore I "kept books" - it was 30 plus hours in all, the sewing alone took me about 10 hours.

 

Jetzt hab ich Schwielen an den Händen vom Nähen - aber mit dem Ergebnis bin ich super glücklich! Und ich hoffe mal, dass sich das beschenkte Patenkind genau so dran erfreut wie ich am Machen!

Now I've got callus on my hands from sewing - but the result makes me really happy! And I hope that my godchild who'll get it for Christmas, will be as happy with it as I was with making it!
