Urlaub der besonderen Art - A special kind of holidays

Da ich in diesem Jahr aus mehreren Gründen nicht wegfahren kann, mache ich ganz besonderen Urlaub - ich nehme an der Tour de Fleece teil!
Zum ersten Mal beteiligige ich mich am internationalen Spinn-Marathon - so lange die Radfahrer bei der Tour de France in die Pedale treten, tun wir das auch.
Als blutiger Anfänger im Spinnen nehme ich mit einer ganz besonderen Gruppe teil - dem Wollwerkraum von Anne, einer wunderbaren Facebook-Gruppe mit vielen lieben, hilfreichen Menschen und einem tollen Miteinander.
Schaut mal dort rein - so viele wunderschöne frisch gesponnene Garne, ich komme aus dem Staunen nicht heraus!
Und wir machen die Tour de Fleece aus Spaß an der Freude - ohne großen Ehrgeiz, in nettem Miteinander.

This year there are several reasons why I can't go on holidays, so I decided on special holidays - I'm taking part in the Tour de Fleece!
For the first time I'm part of this international spinning marathon - as long as the cycler of the Tour de France are pedaling, so do we.
I'm a very beginner in spinning, and I take part in a very special group - the Wollwerkraum of Anne, a wonderful Facebook group with a lot of very nice and helpfulpeople and a very nice interaction.
Take a lot at the photos of this group - so may beautiful freshly spun yarns, I am totally flashed!
We take the Tour de Fleece for just havinf fun, without much ambition and in good company.

Damit hat es eigentlich angefangen, schon etwas vor der Tour de Fleece - mit einem Überraschungspaket von Renate!

That's how it started, some time before the Tour de Fleece - with a surprise parcel from Renate!

Und das war drin! Wundervolles Alpaka, Erstschur eines Jährlings, traumhafte Fasern!

And that's what was inside! Beautiful alpaca, a yearling's first shearing, awesome fiber!

Erst einmal vorsichtig gewaschen - und obwohl die Fasern so sauber aussahen, kam da eine heftige Brühe raus :)!

First I washed them carefully - the fibers had looked to clean, but look at the wash water!

Nach dem Trocknen vorsichtig gezupft - da war dann  doch mehr Gegend drin, als man auf den ersten Blick sehen konnte :).

After drying, I picked the fibers carefully - there was a lot more of "landscape" inside than you could see on first glance :).

Und dann zum ersten Mal aus der Flocke gesponnen!

And then I spun from raw fibers for the first time!

Verzwirnt habe ich dann mit einer Konenseide.

I plied with an industrially spun silk.

Und das war dann mein erster Strang aus Alpake aus der Flocke, nach dem Haspel, Waschen und Trocknen des Strangs.
Ich war so stolz!

And this is my first skein of alpaca spun from the raw fllece, after winding it on a swift, washing and drying. 
I was so proud!

Und dann hat die allerliebste Renate mir noch eine Portion von der wunderbaren Rohwolle geschickt! Die wurde meine meine erste Etappe der Tour de Fleece!

Then Renate sent me another portion of the wonderful fleece! It became my first stage of the tour de Fleece!

 

 

 

Tag 4 - mein Alpaka versucht, beim Dauerregen zu trocknen - und ich brauchte Sonne!
Die habe ich mir dann wenigstens aufs Rad geholt, mit diesem wunderbaren handgefärbten Kammzug von Ute Bartzen!

Tag 5: die Spule voll gemacht und mehr davon geordert, die Färbung ist so wunderschön!

Day 4 - my alpaca yarn still tries to dry during pouring rain - and I need some sun!
I put the sun onto the wheel, with this beautiful roving, hand dyed by Ute Bartzen!

Day 5: finished the roving and ordered more of the fleece, such a beautiful coloration!

 

Und dann war das Alpaka endlich trocken - meine ersten Tourmeter kamen auf die Liste!



And then my alpaca was finally dried - my first tour meters were on the list!

 

Tag 6 - die besondere Herausforderung!
Zum ersten Mal Angora versponnen, leicht kardierte Schur - danke an Renate für die Probe vom Edelchen! -, gekämpft, geflucht - ich weiß nicht, wie oft mir der Faden gerissen ist, habe nach dem 10. Mal nicht mehr mitgezählt :), verbunden mit der Angst, diesen Superflausch zu Packband zu verdrillen!
So langsam habe ich noch nie getreten und so oft habe ich noch nie gestoppt!
Gut 60 Meter zentimeterweise gesponnen und dann mit meiner Konenseide verzwirnt, 11 g = 63 m vor dem Baden.

Day 6 - my very special challenge!
I#ve spun angora for the first time, shorn fiber, very slightly carded - thank you to Renate for the sampe of this beauty! - I fighted, cursed - don't know how often the strand broke, didn't count on after the 10th time :), and a lot of anciety to spin this lovely softness into packaging tape!
Never before I treddled so slowly, and nevcer before I stopped so often!
I spun 60+ meters centimeter by centimeter, then plied it with the industrial silk, 11 g = 63 m before bathing.

Gestern dann Entspannungs-Spinnen - der wunderschöne Rambouillet-Kammzug, handgefärbt von Irish Fairytale Yarns. Mein Ziel hierbei - ihn möglichst dünn ausspinnen und dann Navajo-zwirnen.

Yesterday relaxed spinning - the beautiful Rambouillet roving hand dyed by Irish Fairytale Yarns. Mypersonal challenge: spin it as thin as possible and the Navajo plying.

Und jetzt muss ich schnell wieder ans Rad - da kommt bald lila :)!

And now I'll hurry and get to my wheel - lavender is coming soon :)!
