Slándáil in XL

Am Sonntag war es sonnig und trocken - und wir konnten endlich Fotos von meinem Slándáil in XL machen - danke an Philipp, der "mal eben" fotografiert hat!

On Sunday it was sunny and dry - so we could take photos of my Slándáil in size XL - thank you to Philipp who took the time for making these photos!

Ich habe meinen Slándáil aus folgenden Garnen gestrickt:

1100 g Ivory von Ice Yarns (32% Baumwolle, 31% Wolle, 21% Polyacryl, 16% Polyester, 140 m/ 50g)
200 g Ferner LaDoro (100% Wolle, 300m / 50 g)


I used these yarns for my Slándáil:

200 g Ferner LaDoro (100% Wolle, 300m / 50 g)

Außerdem habe ich ein paar Veränderungen an meinem Slándáil gemacht:
Ich habe ihn nach der Hüftzugabe 20 cm länger gestrickt, damit ich ihn wirklich als Kleid tragen kann, dafür den hinteren Bogen etwas abgeflacht, damit er hinten nicht zu lang wird.


I made a few changes on my Slándáil:
I added another approx. 20 cm length after the hip increases to make it a real dress for me. In order to avoid the dress becoming too long in the back, I made the back bow more shallow.








Mit dem wunderschönen langen Farbverlauf der LaDoro habe ich ein bisschen gespielt, damit ich keinen harten Übergang an der Seitennaht des Rockteils hatte.
Ein Farbabschnitt reicht für ca. 9 Strophen - mit ein wenig Tüftelei ist der Farbverlauf duchgängig.


I played a bit with the beautiful long color flow of LaDoro to avoid a break in the color variegation on the seam of the skirt.
You can knit approx. 9 stanzas with one color segment - with a bit of puzzling the color flow is consistent.

Beim Schal passen etwa 10 Strophen in einen Farbabschnitt - auch hier kann man vermeiden, dass am Anfang oder Ende nur 1 oder 2 Strophen in einer neuen Farbe sind.

Knitting the scarf, about 10 stanzas are in one color segment of the yarn. You can avoid beginning or ending with only 1 or 2 stanzas in a new color here as well.

Habt ihr schon meine neue Brille gesehen?
Die war dringend nötig, weil sich bei der über 10 Jahre alten Brille die Beschichtung auflöste.
Die neue ist strahlend türkis-metallic :)!
Und weil sich meine Sehstärke doch ziemlich stark geändert hat, brauche ich jetzt beim Stricken und Lesen auch nicht mehr ständig über die Brille gucken :)!

Did you see my new glasses?
I really needed new ones, the coating of the old one broke up after more than 10 years of wearing it.
The new one is a bright turquoise metallic :)!
My vision also changed quite a lot, with the new glasses I can read and knit without looking over the glasses :)!

Jeweils knapp 50 helle und dunkle Nadeln warten noch darauf, abgearbeitet zu werden - das wird spannend!

Now I'm starting the finale!
Nearly 50 pins of each color still wait for being worked off - that's really thrilling!

Die letzte riesige Strophe in Grundfarbe hat fast 150 Gramm Material gefressen - ich bin mal gespannt, wie groß die Decke letztendlich wird und wie schwer :)!

The last very huge stanza in main color took nearly 150 grams of the main yarn - I am really excited how large this afghan will become finally and how heavy it will be :)!
